The Popular Science magazine has partnered with Google to offer their entire 137-year archive for free browsing. Each issue appears just as it did at its original time of publication, complete with period advertisements. It’s an amazing resource that beautifully encapsulates PopSci’s ongoing fascination with the future, and science and technology’s incredible potential to improve our lives.

As of today, Google is sharing a snapshot of some of the most popular public data search topics on Google. They’re also launching the Google Public Data Explorer, an experimental visualization tool in Google Labs.
Here’s the most popular data and statistics search topics:
1. School comparisons
2. Unemployment
3. Population
4. Sales tax
5. Salaries
and an interesting chart for my fellow colleagues:
This chart compares bi-annual gross minimum wages per month in Euro. This dataset was prepared by Google based on data downloaded from Eurostat - Last updated: March 6, 2010

Everyone from the mainstream media to celebrities is obsessing over Chatroulette, the website that randomly connects users through one-on-one videochat with strangers around the world.
This new “internet sensation”, is definitely an opportunity for advertising and the people at Poke London managed to do something really smart with it. They developed a promotion for French Connection. In essense you had to seduce a woman via Chatroulette then send evidence to French Connection for your chance to win $250.

13. Nu (mai) cultivati “guru” ci puneti in practica idei revolutionare.
14. Angajati oameni cu abilitati si expetiza in cat mai multe domenii. Nu exista advertising vs. digital, traditional vs. neconventional, online vs offline.
15. Be “…open to everything, attached to nothing” (professionally speaking of course)
Nota:
borg - 1. fictional pseudo-race of cybernetic organisms depicted in the Star Trek universe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borg_(Star_Trek) alternative spelling cyborg

72% of the conversions of cross channel search and display campaigns are a direct result of the display channel.
Only 28% are the result of the search channel.
Cross channel campaigns create a powerful combination by pushing customers into the marketing funnel and pulling them towards the purchase.
